Overzealous coaches and parents are an awful part of Little league baseball and softball. At 6-9 we should be more concerned about enjoying the game than winning. Awful example

Tonight was a top-five moment in my career. Calling a game winning home run, yes it was the top of the ninth, in an MLB park from the radio booth. Special.

I could go off on this idea. No regard for the support staff involved. No regard for so many aspects of athletics departments. Lousy idea … and I played the sport in college. Wonder if the DI Cabinet listens to people other than soccer coaches and snuffs this idea. If DI coaches want so badly to be part of the pro or national level programs, they should just join them. Not change the college game for no reason than their own self adulation.

This is going to open a massive can of worms regarding other sports and scheduling. I can imagine baseball and softball wondering "if men's soccer can go multi-semester, why can't we?"

News: The NCAA Tournaments are officially changing to 76 teams. The men’s tournament will begin on the Tuesday after Selection Sunday, meaning the 2027 tournament will begin March 16. Instead of two games on Tuesday and Wednesday in Dayton, there will be three games each day in Dayton and three games each of the two days in a second city to be determined. The 12 games will be branded the March Madness Opening Round. The lowest-seeded 12 automatic qualifiers as seeded by the committees will play in half of the Opening Round games, while the other six games will feature the 12 lowest-seeded at-large teams. The round of 64 will continue to be played Thursday and Friday, while the round of 32 remains Saturday and Sunday.
