🚀 gener8tor Founder Series Spotlight: Daniel Rotman, PrettyLitter
This week, we're highlighting
@DanielRotman, Founder of
@PrettyLitter, a health-monitoring cat litter company that changes color to help cat owners detect potential health issues early. What began as an idea developed through an entrepreneurial television program has evolved into a company that has helped millions of cat owners monitor their pets' health.
As a member of the gener8tor Milwaukee Accelerator in 2016, Daniel credits the program with helping him refine his subscription business model, better understand unit economics, and build relationships that directly contributed to the company's growth. Through mentor relationships, investor connections, and hands-on support, he gained insights that helped PrettyLitter accelerate during a critical stage of the business.
Daniel also highlights the value of fully engaging with the accelerator experience. By leaning into mentor relationships, showing up consistently, and taking advantage of the resources available, he was able to recruit key early team members, strengthen his fundraising efforts, and build lasting connections with fellow founders. Many of those relationships remain strong today.
Since graduating from gener8tor, PrettyLitter has grown into one of the pet industry's most recognized brands, culminating in its acquisition by
@MarsPetcareUS in 2021.
💡 Daniel's Insight:
"Know who you are as a founder, stay focused on your mission, and don't let outside noise or ego distract you from building the company you want to build."
📣 Daniel's Ask:
For founders considering an accelerator, show up, engage, and take advantage of every opportunity available. The resources, relationships, and support system are there, but it's up to you to make the most of them.
