What really matters. A touching moment amongst all the bluster and hype in pro sports.
Jalen Brunson post Game 4: "Before we start… My thoughts & prayers are with a friend of mine I got to meet last week. Jonathan from North Carolina. From Make a Wish Foundation They asked me to make a video. But something told me to Facetime… I got the pleasure to do so…Quick call but well worth it. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family… May God rest his soul" (Reporter asks question) Jalen (can't answer): "Sorry…"

Steven Tyler still sometimes misses getting high, but he won’t touch it. On Joe Rogan, the Aerosmith legend admitted: “If I do, I’ll wind up doing too much. I can’t control it.” He’s lost marriages, his kids stopped talking to him, and he got kicked out of his own band. Today in 2026, he’s still sober, calls his sponsors when the urge hits, and keeps showing up to meetings. Rock bottom doesn’t have to be the end of the story. Even after decades of fame and multiple relapses, Tyler proves it’s never too late to choose yourself every single day. Sobriety isn’t about never feeling the pull, it’s about refusing to answer it. That kind of quiet strength is more powerful than any stage performance.

A reminder for everyone watching the finals about how great of a man KAT is.
If you haven’t heard the whole story about how KAT attended Jon Krawczynski’s daughters soccer game the day after being traded, you must! Here is Jon Krawczysnki explaining it on Dan Barreiro’s show yesterday.

A truth I have learned over my many years….Your values reveal their true strength in moments of challenge — every time you honor them under pressure, you’re not just staying true to yourself, you’re becoming more of who you’re meant to be. #Values #Ethics

The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) remains one of Hollywood’s greatest post-war masterpieces — a deeply human portrait of soldiers struggling to rebuild their lives after World War II. The film won 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor, and is still regarded as one of the most powerful films ever made about the emotional aftermath of war. Harold Russell, a real-life war veteran who lost both hands during the war, delivered an unforgettable performance that earned him two Oscars for the same role.

Powerful reminder about how all Veterans should be treated. They step up and sacrifice for us all… Although this clip is fiction, it shines a light on aspirational behavior.

While the PGA Championship grabs the headlines, the ‘STORY OF THE YEAR’ just happened on the Ladies European Tour. In 2013, Leonie Harm went for a run & was hit by a drunk driver. She was given a 4% chance to live. Harm just holed a putt on 18 for her first @LETgolf title. 🥲

Truth!
Ken Griffin, founder of Citadel, has a $10 plaque behind his desk that reads: "If we're all going to eat, someone has to sell." Of all the things this man could surround himself with, he chose a cheap plaque with a blunt truth about business. "You're always selling. You're selling to candidates. You're selling to vendors, you're selling to counterparties, you're selling to customers." And if you're always selling, you know what you're going to hear a lot of? "No." Griffin doesn't sugarcoat it. He tells two stories that illustrate just how brutal rejection can be. 1994 was a rough year, with Citadel losing ~4% of its capital. Griffin flew to Switzerland for a crucial lunch meeting, sat down, and his guest arrived only to say: "Oh, I thought you were John Griffin from Fen Church. I got to go." His lunch date got up and left the table. Later that afternoon, a Swiss banker spent 45 minutes with him in a beautiful office, smoking a cigar, before closing with: "Such a pity that such a bright young man picked the wrong career." Two rejections in one day for the founder of one of the most successful hedge funds in history — and his takeaway was simply this: "You just have to tolerate. You're going to hear no a lot, but you need to become accustomed to having to market your ideas and market what you represent and what you stand for." Absorbing rejection and continuing anyway is the actual skill, whether you're hiring, raising capital, or winning customers. Most people avoid selling because they're afraid of no. The ones who build great things have learned to expect it.
