GhostBSD 26.1-R15.0p2 is now available, and this is one of our biggest releases yet. We are moving to FreeBSD 15.0-RELEASE, switching the default shell to zsh, and adopting XLibre as the default display server. NetworkMGR now supports Enterprise WPA (802.1X/EAP) and WireGuard. Update Station gains boot environment based major version upgrade support. Software Station gets faster package search. And the desktop ships with a new wallpaper, updated icon themes, and new theme variants. A big thank you to everyone who reported issues and contributed to this release. I got a new server with SoYouStart/OVH. I will point pkg.ghostbsd.org to it and Storj to pkg.storj.ghostbsd.org. Also, we have pkg.bg.ghostbsd.org coming. It is provided @IncogNetLLC.

Our main repository pkg.ghostbsd.org, which is on @storj, has hit its download quota for June. In the last 7 days, there was an unusual influx of package downloads. From here, we are unsure what to do. In the meantime, in /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/ there are a couple of mirror files. Copy a GhostBSD.conf.* file as GhostBSD.conf in /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/ and it will override the system default. I will keep you posted.

It feels good to have the FN key working under GhostBSD finally. For years, I have tried to figure it out. All that time, only one line was needed in sysctl.conf: hw.usb.usbhid.enable=1. That said, why can FreeBSD have that on by default or automatically?

I have been working all weekend on splitting LLVM libs into a new port to remove 1.8G of running dependency from mesa-dri installation. FreeBSD mesa-dri port runtime depends on some LLVM libraries, and FreeBSD installs the whole 2G off LLVM. This should shave a fair amount of space on the ISO. github.com/ghostbsd/ghostbsd…
