A summer stay worth driving for: Villa Riviera Resort in Lavagna, on the Ligurian coast between Portofino and the Cinque Terre.
Two old villas in a 15,000-sqm park. Adults-only. Fifteen rooms. An infinity pool over the gulf.
I went for a few nights and barely left the hill.
