This weekend at PAX, a potential content creator partner reached out and wanted to have a meeting about collaborating. I had taken some parts of the interaction the wrong way and naively asked her out on a date.
This totally violates the ethical standards of my company, it continues a standard where women feel uncomfortable in this industry, and in general is just creepy.
I was 100% wrong in my actions. I didn't mean to use any perceived position of power to my advantage. Neuro-Divergence isn't an excuse for shitty behavior. I think it's important for people to call out bad behaviour and I respect getting called out for my mistake.
I am truly and genuinely sorry. Of course, to the person directly harmed, but also to the people who thought better of me who I let down. I am ready to accept the consequences of my actions.
