Anthony Volpe is a perfect example of being given unearned chances to succeed by being a first round draft pick. My Cardinals have stayed with Nolan Gorman way too long. 1606 AB’s, .215 BA (like Volpe) & and incredible 612 K’s. Over 38% and so-so defense.

My opinion of why the Spurs dominated early in every game. Wemby is such a force on defense when fresh. He can guard at the rim & out to the 3 point line. As he weakens so does his effectiveness.

Mike Brown has made so many terrific decisions, none better than going with Alvarado in the 4th. But NEEDING a basket after a TO with :06 left he had his big 3 out there with Bridges & Shamet who have done nothing for 2 games. Still won. Touch of gold.

Big night for Ryan Stanek for the Cards. His 3rd pitch — 3 run homer to blow a 7-4 lead in the 7th. Cards score in the 8th & he gives up two more homers to the first three hitters in the bottom of the 8th. Nice job Stano.

The Brunson problem is even worse than I thought. He has taken 44 shots in three games after dribbling at least six seconds. The second highest player to dribble that long and shoot is Fox of the Spurs — 13 shots. Keeps the ball 38.4%, season 31.3. Hero ball.

Coach Brown’s quote after game 3 — one guy caught and held, held, held, held. He’s done it all 3 games coach. He is a great offensive player whose value was accelerated this year due to your coaching philosophy. Better get him to share the ball. QUICKLY

Brunson had a terrific 4th quarter in game one. The other 11 quarters — hero ball. Not going to win. After 3 games, 30 of 81, 82 points and a cumulative minus 13, 19 in the last two games. Coach Brown emphasized ball movement and it is not happening.
