Planning to stay relevant in your career over the next five years or beyond? If you're in knowledge work, creative work, or anything touching marketing sales or customer support, read on.
Lately, talking with friends, I've noticed a pattern: heads in the sand, or maybe a toe dipped into ChatGPT or Copilot. That's it. But here's the thing. This is not a time to be fearful. This is a time to learn, play, and engage. There has never been, in human history, a force or disruptive technology more powerful than AI. It's here, and it's not going away, no matter what you hear or believe.
This morning, for example, I began experimenting with Claude Code in my Mac's terminal for local computer control. I know this sounds intimidating, but trust me, it's actually really easy. And the result? I have a brilliant and capable assistant at my fingertips. Today's task was simple enough: I had it go through all my email, unsubscribe from newsletters, and clean out my promotions folder. All while I was doing something else. Absolutely insane.
And yesterday, I was setting up my social media channels for GOATIMUS. I needed a YouTube banner. Using GOATIMUS as my prompt generator, I gave it my idea and intent, then asked it to generate a JSON-formatted prompt for Nano Banana to create a custom YouTube image that would work across mobile, desktop, and TV screen sizes. You can see the result for yourself. It took less than 10 minutes. Before AI, this would've taken weeks in Adobe Creative Suite.
This is the time to upskill, to engage, or go the way of the Dodo Bird.
So here's where you come in. I've got two asks. First, if there was an upskill community targeting 40-year-olds and up to learn and grow in this exciting time, would that interest you? Second, if you're curious about learning how to prompt and use AI models beyond ChatGPT, sign up for a free account on GOATIMUS. If you're in my friend network, let me know and I'll bump up your monthly free credits. All I ask in return is your feedback.
Don't be a Dodo Bird.
