Colorado again leads the way in the teacher pay penalty. What's that? It's the gap between wages of teachers & college graduates working in other fields. It's one of the reasons we need a graduated income tax - to raise revenue and pay teachers fairly. bit.ly/46XBatk

A statement from @bellpolicy President @cdegruykennedy on the disastrous bill that Congress passed. It will hit rural Colorado especially hard, and those who voted for it will have to live with the wreckage they created. #copolitics #coleg

Colorado is morally and legally obligated to adequately fund schools, says @LisaWeil1, Executive Director of Great Education Colorado. Well done piece by @EricaBreunlin about the need to start planning to close the $3.5 to $4.1 billion annual funding deficit for K-12 education. #copolitics coloradosun.com/2025/03/10/c…

Help us rename TABOR: Thirty years after its passage, TABOR has mutated into something unrecognizable, warping state finances and acting as a shield for the rich who avoid paying their fair share. If we had our druthers, we’d rename it Tax Avoiding Billionaires Openly Rejoice. What would you call it? Click on the link to share your great ideas with us! If you're so inclined, share this with your friends and on social so everyone can chime in! bit.ly/4k0kdmt #copolitics

States that have raised taxes on the wealthy didn't cause them to leave. Instead, those states raised the revenue needed to fund better public services without needing to take more from low- to middle-income households. itep.org/marylands-tax-refor…

The freeze on new enrollments in Colorado’s childcare programs for working families (CCCAP) should be concerning to everyone. Thank you Jen Brown and @ColoradoSun for this important story on a topic the Bell has worked on extensively #coleg #copolitics coloradosun.com/2025/01/21/c…

We are thrilled to announce our newest Bell Economic Mobility Fellows - Dr. Rosemarie Allen and Dr. Dorothy Shapland Rodriguez! Both are academics who work in early childhood studies at Metropolitan State University Denver. They will examine the efficacy of federal stimulus dollars and other funds in encouraging people to become early childhood teachers or advance themselves in the field. They will also specifically look at whether people of color were able to access the funding and if they stayed in the field. We are so looking forward to seeing their work and sharing it!
