There are many interesting sessions this year @APA_Planning #NPC21. Equity is a big theme. Sometimes low-tech such as telephone town halls may promote the most public involvement. Hi-tech such as AI can also promote more equitable code enforcement.

I enjoyed the urban planning sessions at #APATX19 last week. The corridor session was my favorite by @livableplans and @JasonClaunch. Also the future of transportation was fascinating with Jetsons travel on the horizon.

Public spaces are so important to cities, and they come in many forms. I have seen this myself with the @DentonMarket and its function as a weekly public space for gathering, socializing, and the exchange of ideas in Denton. #dentontx #dentoning #publicspace #farmersmarket
10 years ago today, people said we were crazy to pedestrianize Broadway. Today, it would be crazy to bring the cars back. Times Square wasn’t just a public space project, it was the start of a global revolution in how cities think about their streets.
