Another proud moment for me last night as the Redbacks debuted their mental health jerseys for 2026. The theme is “Kintsugi” - the Japanese art of pottery repair, showcasing beauty in resilience. Both for pottery and our own mental health. 📸 @ericpaulgoldie

THROWBACK THURSDAY ⏮️
Back in 2018, Bryce Cotton erupted for 33 points against Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and the Denver Nuggets in an NBAxNBL preseason game 🔥
Perth pushed Denver all the way, falling by just 8 points in an impressive 96-88 finish.
Let the silly season begin for #NBL27. If Dash is heading to South East, I’m putting money on Luke Paul heading to Melbourne United for the Next Stars Program.
Here’s our @ESPNAusNZ NBL Free Agency primer.
It includes my latest intel: Melbourne United closing in on Sam Waardenburg, the latest on Joe Ingles, Dash Daniels looking Phoenix-bound, Perth/SEM eyeing Tyson Walker, teams monitoring Reyne Smith, and more.

Won’t get much credit but thought Josh Jenkins changed that game. Sydney should’ve put that game away in the 3rd and he hit some timely shots in that quarter. #NBL26
Best thing about these Star D2 guy is they’ve developed their game far beyond a lot of D1 role players from big schools.
Cam Gliddon a great example, and of course the 500 metro state guys that came through the NBL!
If @NBL teams don’t have Nielsen Jnr. on their prospect list they should really consider who is in control of recruiting. Can’t wait to see where he ends up. @Blake_Nielsen7 . Special talent.
6’8 Point Forward Blake Nielsen is the best NBA Draft Prospect in Division 2
For the season the senior averaged 18/6/4 while helping St Edward’s finish as one of the best teams in D2 finishing with a 26-9 record. Nielsen also had 16/8/3 in his lone matchup with a D1 opponent against Texas.
Nielsen’s mix of passing, shot creation, spot up shooting, finishing, handle, pace, and versatility at his size is extremely valuable and it’s something not a lot of players possess.
Nielsen was one of the best playmakers in all of college basketball this season at 6’8 with his ability to be a connective passer, find his teammates off the PNR, or create plays for his teammates. Nielsen is an elite decision maker who has the ability to find his teammates at a high level with his passing vision. Nielsen also has elite touch at the rim and was one of the best creation finishers in D2 where he shot 60% at the rim while also shooting 47% on floaters. Nielsen is also a high level catch and shoot shooter where he shot 37% on catch and shoot threes on 4 attempts a game.
Plantar fascias are overrated anyways. Windler to take a pain injection and have a Herculean effort and have his own Willis Reed moment. Lessssgoooooo!!!
UPDATED: My old coach in Trev returned back to his old ways and gave me a grilling by informing I put up the wrong phone. Some things never change. Ten years ago. 2nd 🏆 of 4
Random observation, the AFL might be one of the few codes where so many former players end up coaching or working back inside clubs once they finish playing.
Feels like they really keep people in it long after their playing days are over, are there many other codes like that?
