We were out at the @Arlington_GP this morning doing some media spots. One of the most impressive street courses @IndyCar has ever had.
Helping promote the @javahouse @Arlington_GP on @FOX4 this morning. See ya out there!

After 5 years of Adam Curry (“the Podfather”) talking about Ashlyn’s racing on the No Agenda podcast, we finally got to meet he and his wife Tina in Fredricksburg today at the big meetup. This is the last thing we’ll be doing related to Ashlyn’s racing. But it was important to say thank you in person for all of the good vibes they sent our way. People from that podcast did things for her such as build her website, create custom merchandise and give her the profits, outright money donations and of course lots of followers and fans, many of whom came out to see her race and meet her. @adamcurry @THErealDVORAK @AshlynSpeed #NoAgenda

For any wondering.
Ashlyn has decided to hang up her helmet after 12 years of a wild journey. We may not make a public post about it. Maybe this is it. The main motivator was the back-to-back concussions. It took 2 months to heal. It was concerning. She had to miss the last race at Road Atlanta. Her first year of pro racing was so much harder than we could have imagined. We were economically, physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted by December. She said dad, I hate the travel, I hate the publicity, I just want to work and start a family. After a period of mourning, we are looking to the future. I’ve got a couple of new hobbies and she is building her manicure business, NailsByAshlyn.pro. Sadly, Prime Video’s First to the Finish featuring Ashlyn will not be completing season 2 after a year of filming. That’s a bummer. So many good storylines. Thank you @darrenoneill and @THErealDVORAK and @adamcurry for always cheering her on! #TYFYC We are going to try to make the April Fredricksburg Meetup now that we are not on a schedule.

I have discussed sim racing with many pro racers over the years, because I’ve always been curious why some enjoy it and some hate it. This is my finding: Racers who started out sim racing as a child enjoy it, and the experience translates well to real life. Racers who started out racing in real life and then go to the sim can’t stand the lack of inputs that they experience in a real car. I went down many rabbit holes until Laura Hayes recently provided this answer that makes perfect sense to me.

The “cooler” systems has several points of possible failure with dangerous consequences. But these ice vests work well for a race that is about 2 hrs or less. No points of failure. Worked great for me for 2 - 2.5 hr stints in a high humidity endurance race. Added the ice neck horseshoe and I was actually comfortable.

Note to @paytonmaytv: you rock! @FOX4
That interviewer was the BEST I’ve ever seen. I’ve worked with a lot. Listen to her theatrical responses that bring it to life, ooh, *gasp*, wow. Just a complete pro. And she walked her through the storyline effortlessly. I was blown away and will treasure this last interview. I need to write her a note.

Keep your eye on Frankie Mossman, it’s all ⬆️ for him. All around great kid. And as with most racers, it’s a dad behind the scenes helping, if the dream has any chance at all. Frankie took 2nd today at the @Arlington_GP, @USFPro2000!

2nd place for the #357 TCB Racing / Onward Motion Superman Mini Cooper! This is the second Lemons podium for TCB and a very proud first podium for Onward Motion! Today, I drove for a little under 3 hours in the downpour with sitting water everywhere. I can’t remember how many laps I made up, but I was flying around all those rear-wheel cars. Cole put in a super solid second stint to keep us in it. By the last few laps, Phil had got us to within 8 seconds of 2nd place, but local yellows kept causing issues. With 2 laps to go, Phil’s pressure was too much for the Lexus ahead and they took a ride through the grass! Thank you so much to Bryan & Tara Richardson, our crew chief Justin and all of the wonderful people at TCB Racing and Onward Motion! Who’s gonna make the first “shoe” trophy joke? 😆

I’ve been saying this for years, ever since I saw a newspaper article touting how the top ten academics in our city high school were all ladies, as if that was an accomplishment. They’ve left the boys behind.
Dr. Erica Komisar just said what many parents whisper but few say out loud: Modern schools are built for girls, not boys—and we’re paying a steep price. Little boys (ages 3–6) surge with testosterone. They need to run, jump, play, burn energy. Instead, we sit them in circle time, demand emotional regulation, and label normal boy behavior as ADHD or “behavioral problems.” Result? Marginalized, stressed, diagnosed early, and tracked that way through school. Her fix if she ran the world: Separate boys and girls in the early years. Boys get multiple recess periods, short focused bursts, and space to move. Girls get a calmer environment where they feel safe taking STEM/math risks. Both thrive when not forced into the opposite gender’s learning style. Single-gender early education: Boys try art/music without teasing. Girls try science without self-consciousness. Evidence already shows it works. Parents/teachers: Do you see boys struggling more in today’s classrooms—or is this overblown? What’s one change you’d make to education for boys right now?

Let’s have some fun. I’ve been selected as one of 4 drivers by TCB Racing & Onward Motion for the Lemons race at NOLA in March. We’ll be racing the hand-control equipped “Superman” Mini Cooper for two endurance races. Ashlyn will be coming along to coach me. @Onwardmotion @24hoursoflemons
