Congratulations to Martin “Machete” Maldonado on an incredible baseball career.
A phenomenal catcher who made pitchers better, who played with heart and became a champion.
He announced his retirement on instagram. He would love to coach at some point.

Cowboys now have 2 RD1 picks in ‘26 and ‘27. My first thought is Arch in Dallas — whether it’s in ‘26 (packaging 2, 3 or even 4 1st rounders to move up) or in ‘27 (DAL would likely need to move one of their 1st’s next yr for a 3rd RD1 pk in ‘27). Hell of a lot more to unpack but I think we have enough time!

Reading between the lines, it seems the Astros have two roster spots for four guys: Cooper Hummel, Zach Dezenzo, Cam Smith and Jon Singleton. The team isn't carrying Smith or Dezenzo unless they can play every day and they need another LH or SH bat on the bench.
