There are numerous grifters, and serious academics, out there who seem to think if the fatality stats are not that bad, then Covid is no big deal.

Starting an indefinite period of sick leave because Covid has hit me like a ton of bricks. It's fucking terrible. Immediate target is to get out of the Mater in one piece. After that who knows? Been in DCU since 1986 more or less so I've had a great innings anyway.

A&E getting all the headlines but respiratory viruses putting real pressure on dialysis services with need for some patients to be isolated with one-to-one nursing. People need to start making with decent masks. It's not a huge ask.
