Meeting Reno Voters Where They Are At

As the first candidate President Trump endorsed in CD-2 last November (see below), I can tell you he got it right the first time. But since I won’t be on the ballot, he made a mistake today. Northern Nevada Republicans deserve a strong Nevada voice in this district, just as they’ve had with Barbara Vucanovich, Jim Gibbons, Dean Heller, and myself for the last 43 years. The home team has done just fine. The time has not come for a national private political organization to pick for Nevadans, who speaks for them in the U.S. House of Representatives. I proudly voted for pure Nevada, Nevada proud, James Settelmeyer.  With all due respect Mr. President, Nevada already has five representatives who live in Clark County. Your endorsement if followed, would make it six out of six. CD-2 has been especially good to you throughout your three runs. This endorsement is an incredibly curious way to say thank you to those people who have been the bedrock of your political endeavors here in original Nevada. Reno Datacenter Debate at City Hall. Our city is the fastest warming in the nation, and we are short of energy, infrastructure, and water, so it’s not surprising that folks are asking the right questions about why we would be gearing up for data centers here. Horses for courses suggests that we should not be prioritizing data centers, especially in the city.

Bronco Kidd vs. Vegas Flippo Flippo and i matched up in Dayton Nevada where he and i were on opposite sides of the battle over the Iran war and tariffs. I wish we’d gotten to debate Trump’s tax cheating, insider trading, and slush funding for cop beaters. Jeff was a true hero in every sense of the word. He was not only a role model to our kids, but also a goofy and silly dad, always looking for ways to make the kids laugh. He was an exceptional and caring husband, even finding ways to take care of us while serving 7,000 miles away. Jeff was also an incredible friend, a dedicated employee, and a man of deep faith. Every one of these relationships mattered profoundly to him, and he will be missed by so many. We are beyond grateful for the outpouring of love surrounding us during this unimaginable time. As a former federal regulator, I’m inclined to pay attentio to misinformation, regardless of whether such conduct is based on ignorance or intention. I know not the cause for providing fraudulent information, but I feel a responsibility to at least correct blatant mis-statements. To that end, please note: ”He doesn’t mention that the technology is Ripple...” This is a lie. The technology we’ve built tokenized deposits on is Solana (fast and cheap), though we previously worked with Ethereum (flexible). It was never Ripple. “The crypto company that the SEC sued” This is disingenuous as the litigation with the SEC provided the fundamental breakthrough to determine when a currency is a security versus a commodity. This is regulatory R&D at the most fundamental level: ripple.com/ripple-press/land… “He does not name Ripple, the company he co-founded” This is a lie. The founders of Ripple are Chris Larsen, Jed McCaleb, David Schwartz, and Arthur Britto. This information is plainly and widely known. I was the 10th employee and served as the Chief Risk Officer based on my regulatory background. I’m proud of Ripple and my time there, but it was quite some time ago relative to my other endeavors. I bought Vast Bank to support tokenized deposits — which are US dollars NOT crypto. Vast Bank had been the first Bank to receive a non-objection letter from the OCC to do crypto and I shut that down because my focus is elsewhere. ”running a venture firm …” This is misleading. I do not, and have never operated a venture firm — i.e. investing other people’s money. I certainly have managed my own money, and yes I fully admit/describe and am proud of the early roles/investments I made in Twitter, Square, Ripple, Coinbase and Robinhood. There’s plenty of my public discussions of all of this on the internet. Why anyone would think that I’m not proud of my work/investment experience in these regards, along with a 300 page disclosure, is beyond me. Anymore than the time I spent as a regulator or working on regulatory issues for banking and financial services. ”the company whose token is the foundation of the wealth he’s now spending in this primary” This is ridiculous and misleading. I certainly did well with Ripple, but my entrepreneurial back ground started decades before that with DMSC, the bike messenger network I took public in 1998. Twitter and Square were subsequent to that and predate Ripple. And it’s no secret about many other roles/investments I’ve made since — and yes that’s all documented in my disclosures as well as talked about in my numerous media appearances. Why anyone is representing that I’m embarrassed or hiding that is just smear journalism. The tag line for the posting is just petty clickbait. Overall, I have no insight into the motivations or intentions behind this sort of hatchet behavior. At least this isn’t coming from a fellow candidate, as our party can win in November and beyond without resorting to lowball conduct.
