After 12 years of working from home, I rented an office room: 25 square meters, 5 minutes to get there by bike, 2 Gbps fiber for 30 USD / month, and plenty of small businesses around me.
It's an experiment, and I'm going to report back on its results in a few months.

π Rails 8.1 is out today!
It ships with a few improvements that I really like, so I'm excited to update my apps to the latest version.

Kamal Improvements. I don't use Kamal, but 8.1 makes it easy to load secrets from encrypted credential files and it supports registry-free deployments.

6. missing_presence_validation supports polymorphic associations, ignores columns with functional default values, allows exclusion/inclusion validators as alternatives.
7. incorrect_length_validation allows exclusion/inclusion validators as alternatives.

8. missing_foreign_keys uses belongs_to to identify missing foreign key constraints.
9. missing_presence_validation allows explicit presence validators defined on associations.
10. Lot's of bug fixes and documentation updates.

Result: deployments go through in about 18 seconds.

My wife's iPhone 13 mini is driving me nuts!
1. eSIM stopped working and cannot be removed - it gets stuck on "Removing".
2. I can't update to iOS 18.6 - gets stuck on "Verifying update".
Any tips?
