Data engineering yes. Data analytics no!
SDEs have built things like Elastic Search just to avoid doing manual data stuff.
If you have been a Fullstack in a small org, youβve been asked to help with preparing data here and there. I hated that kind of work. But it made me appreciate good db designs.
CS and IT graduates dont like Data roles and I dont know why. Especially Data Analytics.
Most DAs I know are just self taught and anyone who changed careers. Because its the easiest role to be in and does not really require much of the experience.
However, alot of Backend devs transition to Data at the Data Engineering level and Cloud. Because now here things start to get real and they mean business with Pipelines.
