Hey, this is Greg Stier. I don’t come from a typical, religious, church-going, pew-sitting, hymn-singing family. I come from a family filled with body-building, tobacco-chewing, beer-drinking thugs. 😁 Although I was raised in one of the highest crime rate neighborhoods in our city, I was more like Young Sheldon in the hood. I was a nerdy, anxious, quiet, fatherless kid who was both scared of my own shadow and scarred by the trauma of the violence around me. Just when things seemed utterly hopeless, God sent a hillbilly preacher nicknamed “Yankee” into our family and everything began to change. Yankee shared the gospel with my toughest family member, my Uncle Jack. Not only did Jack put his faith in Jesus, my entire rough-and-tumble family eventually came to Christ. As a young man, I went to Yankee's youth group where he trained me to share my faith. There was one person the Holy Spirit burdened me to reach with the Gospel right away... My ma. My guilt-ridden, shame-fueled ma never thought God could forgive her for the wild life she had lived. After all, she had conceived me after a short tryst with a guy she met at a party. When she found out she was pregnant, ma drove 2,000 miles from Denver to Boston to have an illegal abortion far from home. Thankfully my Uncle Tommy and Aunt Carol, who lived in Boston at the time, talked her out of it. For years I wondered why ma would burst into tears when she looked at me. When I was 12 my grandma told me the whole messy story. It was that same year that I learned how to share the Gospel effectively. Almost immediately I began to talk to my ma about Jesus and the salvation he offered to all. I wanted her to know the joy and power of Christ's forgiveness through his shed blood on the cross. It took 3 years and lots of Gospel conversations but ma finally accepted Jesus. In her words she was going to heaven, "Cigarettes and all." This all happened because Yankee equipped me to share the Gospel with clarity and confidence. He inspired, equipped and mobilized hundreds of teenagers to declare the good news of Jesus to everyone. Eventually, I planted a church with my life-long friend, Rick (who also was deeply impacted by Yankee's ministry.) A few years later I started @dare2share with my old theology professor, Jonathan Smith. Dare 2 Share was launched with the mission of energizing the Church to mobilize youth to Gospelize their world. I was planning on preaching at the church and leading Dare 2 Share for the rest of my life. But, after the Columbine High School massacre in 1999, I resigned from the church to take on Dare 2 Share full-time. I won't stop until "every teen everywhere (all one billion of them) hears the Gospel from a friend." In 1990 I married the love of my life, Debbie, and, over the last 34 years, with God's help, we raised two amazing, Jesus-loving kids, Jeremy and Kailey. Jeremy is working hard to become a police officer and is married to the one-and-only Kat (she's a huge answer to our prayers!) Our daughter Kailey is attending @my_ccu where she studies music (check out her Spotify album, Stuck on Repeat.) I love traveling the world, working nun-chucks, hanging with the family, drinking coffee, hiking the Rocky Mountains, rooting for the Denver Broncos, watching movies, taking long walks with my wife and working out. But more than anything I love Jesus and long to "know him and make him known." Like the hillbilly preacher who reached my family, I believe in the power of the Gospel and the potential of teenagers. Oh yeah, my two latest books are Radical Like Jesus and, my memoir, Unlikely Fighter, both of which you can find on Amazon and Audible. Follow me on Insta, X and/or Facebook to be encouraged to share your faith and challenged to mobilize the next generation to do the same.

I just heard a friend say these words, “I’m not gonna over-think this. I’m gonna over-pray it.” BOOM!

A devotional habit that has helped me: My morning routine in the Word is pretty simple—some might even call it “boring.” I read straight through the Bible chronologically, usually one or two chapters from the New Testament and three or four from the Old Testament each day. Along the way, I often journal a prayer, responding to whatever the Holy Spirit is convicting or stirring in me. I’ve been doing this for years now, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. That said, I’ve added a small but meaningful layer to this rhythm from time to time. Before starting a new book of the Bible, I’ll watch a short summary video from @bibleproject. Their videos consistently offer helpful, engaging insights that give context and shape to what I’m about to read. Do I agree with every conclusion they draw? No—but that’s true of any commentary. Still, I’ve found their work to be incredibly valuable overall. Whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with the Lord for years, these beautifully illustrated, biblically rich videos are worth your time. Taking just 5–8 minutes to watch one before diving into a new book can make a meaningful difference in how you read and understand Scripture. Here’s a sample video from The Bible Project on the book of Psalms: youtu.be/j9phNEaPrv8?si=cBUj…

We just watched “A Great Awakening” Movie. It was deeply moving. I strongly encourage everyone to watch it…especially preachers. Whitefield preached to 80% of the people who lived in the Colonies over 3 decades of ministry. The revival that struck as a result prepared the colonies to become a republic. We need another Great Awakening!

Time for Volume 2 of George Whitefield, The Life and Times of the Great Evangelist of the 18th Century. PLUS, tonight we are going to go see A Great Awakening (the movie based on his life, ministry and friendship with the unbelieving Benjamin Franklin). 😀 #AGreatAwakening

PRAYER REQUEST 🙏🙏🙏 This week I have the incredible opportunity to witness first hand and invest in what God is doing at @fm72waco ! What God has been doing at Baylor through this united prayer emphasis the last few years I can confidently label as revival (and I don’t say that lightly) the spiritual temperature across multiple churches and ministries is like nothing I have seen before. There is a genuine humility and hunger for God among the students and these leaders that is contagious. It’s not showy or forced but sincere and deep. This week, I have the privilege of speaking at the last session challenging around 3,000 students to take this fire and spread it to others through evangelism! Please cover that in prayer and join me in praying that God will continue to fan into flame the work He is doing on this campus. That God will spread the flame of revival to every campus and every nation through these students! May this truly be the revival generation 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏

Yesterday I got a call from “Yankee”—the hillbilly preacher who brought the Gospel of Jesus to my wild, muscle-bound, fist-fighting family more than 50 years ago. He was passing through town and invited me to lunch with him and his wife of 65 years, Betty. At Mission BBQ, we swapped stories and caught up. He’s 84 and still rolling down the road in an old RV—preaching in churches, urging believers to share the clear Gospel of grace across America. He’s on multiple radio stations, connects with teenagers (and they love him!), and his YouTube channel has topped 6 million views. He has a website where you can find out more (yankeearnold.com.) But what stands out most? Every single day, he shares the Gospel with whoever God puts in his path—even a server named Roxy at lunch. People ask where my passion for sharing Jesus comes from. Simple: watching my brother boldly live it out growing up—and being discipled by a hillbilly preacher named “Yankee” when I was about 12. Pray for Yankee and Betty as they stay on the road these next few months, faithfully preaching the Gospel from church to church.

THE DAY 2 STRANGERS TRIED TO HEAL ME IN A STARBUCKS I was sitting in Starbucks when two college-aged girls walked up, noticed my knee brace, and said, “Sir, can we pray for your healing?” I smiled. “Absolutely.” What they didn’t know is I’ve had this bad knee for 35 years—ever since I tore my ACL (yes… attempting to dance like Michael Jackson). The surgery failed, and I’ve been managing it ever since. They also had no idea I was an evangelist. They prayed with bold faith—right there in Starbucks, asking God to heal. When they finished, they asked, “Did you feel anything? Are you healed?” I paused. “Honestly… no.” But before they walked away, I asked them something they didn’t expect: “Aren’t you going to share the Gospel with me?” They looked confused. I said, “You were bold enough to approach me and pray for my knee—but what about my soul?” Then they admitted it: they didn’t really know how to share the Gospel. So right there, in the middle of Starbucks, I gave them a quick crash course—how to move from physical need to spiritual truth, and how to clearly share the good news of Jesus. By the end, their confidence had completely shifted. They weren’t just willing to pray anymore—they were ready to speak. They walked away excited, determined to not only pray for people—but to share the message that actually changes lives. Don’t get me wrong—I believe God can heal. I believe we should pray in faith for healing. I’ve experienced God’s healing personally on other occasions. But if we stop there, we miss the bigger miracle. Because the greatest healing isn’t physical—it’s spiritual. If the body is healed but the soul is lost, what a wasted opportunity. I’d rather have someone limp into heaven than sprint into hell.
