Jan 6 and all his many crimes told us Trump thought he was above the law. Now that he's President again, he's more brazenly lawless than any President in history. No one should be surprised. Everyone who voted for him should have known better. nytimes.com/2025/02/05/us/tr…

This is some dumb, dumb shit. "A bill to “Make carbon dioxide great again” and another proposing a five-year moratorium on wind and solar projects failed to make it out of Senate committees Monday." Thankful this didn't pass, but man, Wyoming, get your shit together.

I have been on a chat with @Zoom support for an hour and a half trying to get an answer to why they are saying we're over our license count out of nowhere. Transferred 4 times and this final rep says "they have limited access to my account". Unreal. Worst customer service ever.

We have got to stop this curve. Or we're facing terrible consequences. Curious to the tech leaders how all the promises of AI are going to solve this vs the practical things we know will work: - Reverse deforestation - Invest in clean energy - Reduce our average footprint
Global surface temperatures set a new record in 2024, exceeding 1.5C above preindustrial levels in the majority of datasets. It was more than 0.1C warmer than the prior record set in 2023, and more than 0.25C warmer than any year prior to that.

We used to live in a society
WSJ front page today: "If security lines, flight delays and long layovers weren’t enough, there’s a new scourge facing holiday travelers: a surprising number of people who think it’s totally OK to have phone conversations on speaker, or watch movies and shows without headphones."

This is very troubling, as "influencers" could mean everything from respected, principled journalists to batshit nutjobs. And I include celebrities and billionaires in the latter. Media outlets, despite flaws, have obligations to report facts and avoid bias. Influencers don't.
Fascinating new Pew survey on the growth of "news influencers" • 1 in 5 U.S. adults get news from them • X is their most common platform (by a lot) • Most (77%) have no affiliation with a news outlet • Majority content (55%) focused on politics/election

The latest in an absolutely horrifying list of unqualified appointees. Marco Rubio feels like a scholar compared to Gaetz, Gabbard and other Trump loyalists being put forward for jobs they are not suited for. cnbc.com/2024/11/13/trump-ta…

For the first time since WWII, every governing party facing election in a developed country this year lost vote share, via @jburnmurdoch 2024 Democrats are the red dot. Absolutely critical context to any postmortem.

Truly disappointing to see so many tech leaders and VCs flocking to Trump and the Republican party. The herd mentality of this industry cannot be overstated.

Focusing for a moment on the POLICIES at play. Voters were asked whether they supported 100 different policies, but weren't told whether the policy was from Trump or Harris. Nearly all of Harris' policies got majority support from the public, and... 🧵

Our company has been trying to renew @Office 365 for 3 weeks. Their system cannot process a simple order, have escalated multiple times, and now we are being asked to provide a tax ID and tax certificate just to buy…Office. What is @Microsoft doing??? Unreal.
