Congratulations to Madalyn Sullivan, Miss Mississippi's Teen 2026! All of the delegates competed hard and all are beautiful - inside and out. Learning about their stories and aspirations was truly inspirational. I have no doubt that each and every one will be tremendously successful. Ladies, Mississippi is proud of you! To the Miss Mississippi Teen Board of Trustees and Executive Director Winky Freeman, words cannot adequately express my gratitude for being chosen to serve as a judge for this year’s pageant. To my world-class fellow judges - Tammy Pack, Rebekah Staples, Aaron Franco and Cathy Northington - I thoroughly enjoyed spending the week with you for this important duty. Y’all are totally awesome. To the City of Vicksburg and all of the businesses who took care of the judges accommodations, meals, goodies and transportation - you truly exemplified world renowned Mississippi Hospitality. And finally, I absolutely cannot say enough about our amazing Judges Chairman, Margie Steckler. She orchestrated the entire week - attending to our every need so that we could focus on the task at hand. She’s a rock star! I can’t wait to watch Madalyn compete in the Miss America’s Teen Pageant. She will represent Mississippi very well!

A hero needs your prayers. Today, a Covington County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot and seriously injured during a traffic stop. Law enforcement is working to bring those responsible to justice.  Make no mistake, they will be brought to justice. Please pray for this deputy and their family, Mississippi!

RESISTANCE: Senator Thom Tillis came clean and admitted to Politico he opposes Trump and the entire GOP agenda. The lame duck RINO says he'll spend his last months blocking everything the President wants. We're seeing the same behavior from Cassidy, Cornyn, and even Thune. The mask is coming off...

Enjoyed joining Host Bianca de la Garza on Newsmax today. We covered a couple of topics, including a candidate for U.S. House in New York who wants taxpayers to fund gender transition treatment. Also wants a “Trans Bill of Rights.” Horse hockey!

The Ted Turner "Doomsday Tape" we talked about on @MidDaysGerard today that was commissioned to be played in the event the world was coming to an end. @grgibert @supertalk
It’s not quite the end of the world, but Ted Turner had a doomsday video prepared for the last employee at Turner to play when the world ended. Seems only fitting to play it the day of his passing….

“MMIWG2LGBTQQIA” sounds like some Biden would say at a press conference.
“MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA ” The Canadian government just dropped this absolute monstrosity (and no, it isn’t satire).

Discussing the birthright citizenship issue on Newsmax this morning with host Bill Spadea. @BillSpadea Always enjoy a friendly squabble with Ellis Henican - Journalist // New York Times Bestselling Author. I’ll post the clip once received from the producers. This issue wouldn’t be such a huge problem were it not for Joe Biden flinging the doors to the country wide open, allowing tens of millions of illegals to disperse.

The President is requesting that the Congress increase the Department of War’s budget by 50% or $500 billion to $1.5 trillion. Counting interest, that would add $5.8 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years. We’re presently on track to add roughly $23 trillion to the debt by 2035. So by increasing the Pentagon‘s budget has requested, our debt will weigh in and nearly $65 trillion in 10 years. One almost becomes numb to that staggering value. I believe that defense is a core function of government. But we should defund non-core functions and of course eliminate improper spending. The government should consider transferring the entire Medicaid program, which currently costs $610 billion a year, to the states. Allow the states to design and fund a safety net healthcare program for low income citizens as they see fit. Because we have the lowest per capita income in the nation, Mississippi receives the highest federal match of all 50 states. Uncle Sam covers 78% of our Medicaid program which will cost $8 billion this year. The state kicks in just under $1 billion. Our entire healthcare system would collapse without Medicaid. And we borrow nearly half of every dollar the federal government spends on the program. With over 700,000 Mississippians enrolled in Medicaid, the total cost of the system exceeds our general fund budget of $7.1 billion. Our government is literally in the health insurance business.

I agree with Senator @tyler_mccaughn. Mississippi has proven that it is capable of regulating sports betting, protecting consumers while generating economic activity and producing revenue for the State. We don’t need the federal government stepping in to regulate the new prediction market platforms. Those are not financial products. They are tools that facilitate gambling. Let’s follow the Constitution. Stay in your lane, federal government. magnoliatribune.com/2026/03/…
