I've been thinking about this all day, and if Trump dies and Vance takes over I think we're looking at something like regime collapse.
Vance has proven incompetent, the coalition is already fracturing, and his impulses are authoritarian. Very, very bad combination.

Notable detail in the NYT story is, besides Miller, Vance was the WH's most ardent backer of unleashing govt repression against Americans. Consistent w/ him endorsing* a book that literally calls for importing European & Latin American fascist tactics into the US.

On Glogauer Straße in Kreuzberg is the Kirche Martha-Kirchengemeinde. On April 25th 1945 the Soviet 9th Rifle Corps crossed the Landwehr Canal and advanced through the district. The church courtyard shows evidence of rifle and machine gun fire to its walls, pillars and tiles.
