Father to my children, husband to their mother. Full time farmer, part time AG policy nerd. Iβm treating your RT like an endorsement whether you like it or not
This was written back in 2006 after my closest call with a farm accident. Take your time out there and trust your intuition.
Letβs help others on the farm. What are some of your closest calls?

Four years ago I was day drinking by myself at a Korean fried chicken restaurant and everyone was watching the World Cup being played in Qatar. This annoyed me as hockey is the superior sport, and so I licked my fingers and hastily fired off this tweet from my little 1,000 follower account.
It went viral and changed my life. Interviews on cable news, hundreds of thousands in endorsements, movie offers, and although I canβt say much in detail due to NDAs, letβs just say I was invited to βdinnerβ with a woman whose name rhymes with βKidney Queeney.β
I measure my life as either BHT or AFT (before hockey tweet or after hockey tweet).
Thank you World Cup. Thank you for changing my life.

The lesson on agtwitter is most should learn you can only speak with authority on your specific region, and when you try to speak with authority outside of it you often sound like an ass.

Anecdotally in talking to a few retail friends they say fertilizer pickups are slow this year. Does this mean weβve been trained for summer fill? Or have prices done their job and rationed demand?
If so with grain prices creeping higher and decent rains will farmers add later?
Tagging @Canada@AAFC_Canada@CornwallHeath@environmentca this would be huge for farmers Decrease down time. Decrease overall operating expense. Decrease purchase expense. Ask anyoneβs dealer. Iβm sure they will say emissions is the number one call out that could be prevented
The EPA said Tuesday it plans to eliminate #diesel#emissions requirements for #farm equipment, arguing the move will reduce costs and mechanical burdens for farmers already grappling with high input prices and economic strain.

A new column from me after getting a common question after presentations in both Canada and the US. "Who do I listen to for objective, unbiased news and information?"
Stop searching for the truth and instead be open to perspectives

Your personal mosquito air defense system
LiDAR locks onto a mosquito in 3 milliseconds. Laser fires. Fried. Up to 30 per second and works in pitch dark.
It's called the Photon Matrix. The tech is literally descended from Reagan's Star Wars missile defense program, just shrunk down to fry bugs in your backyard.
You wanted one yesterday didn't you.
An incredibly important report making the case to ensure our critical infrastructure is functioning day in and day out to help regain our status as a reliable supplier.
Rail & port labour disputes could cost Canada's grain sector $540M/week, according to a new report from the Ag Transport Coalition. The federal government is currently seeking input on an update to the Canada Labour Code.

βGive them a massive amount of oil, agricultural land, copper, freshwater, and every natural resource in the world. Now make them neighbors with the biggest market in the world. Great, now have them leave the resources in the ground and instead flip condos to each otherβ.
Canada can't afford more supply chain disruptions.
70% of Canadian grain is exported, when rail and ports stop moving, farmers pay the price immediately and permanently. Canada needs a modernized labour framework for trade-enabling sectors.
