Sad it's over, but looking forward to a rest after months of organising #CCCCardiff2024 with @guyjbradley, @ClareParry_ & team. Particularly proud of seeing so many Cardiff alumni return as delegates.

Had a fun time reviewing the papers on @BBCRadioWales' Sunday Supplement with @DeAthCardiff, slipping in a couple of great Roman stories that appeared last week

Great to see this exhibition last week, once we'd worked out where it was in the Capitoline Museums museicapitolini.org/it/mostr…. Had a spectacular array of Republican votive, architectonic and funerary material, much unpublished

In 2019, three Jewish men, who had managed to survive the atrocities of the Auschwitz concentration camp and were freed on the very same day, come together once again after a span of 73 years. Remarkably, all three men not only endured the horrors of the camp but also possess tattoos that differ by a mere 10, indicating their simultaneous presence within its confines. These resilient individuals went on to build families and lead fulfilling lives.

*ahem* Yes. The chances of anyone with any longstanding British ancestry being directly descended from Edward III is effectively 100%. Addendum: 25th cousin once removed is effectively meaningless. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Highlighted in Claire Holleran's CR review, and rather buried on the OUP website!
