We’ve taken part in a major operation to disrupt scam networks in SE Asia, leading to the arrests of 63 suspected scammers & the removal of over 1.4 million accounts on Facebook & Instagram.
Taking down sophisticated global criminal networks requires industry & law enforcement to work together. This successful operation brought together @Meta, @Microsoft, @Coinbase, @Starlink, with @DOJ's Scam Center Strike Force, the @FBI, and global law enforcement.
These syndicates exploit millions through romance scams, investment fraud, and forced labor, with their tactics constantly evolving across platforms and borders. That's exactly why this sort of cross-sector collaboration matters: together, industry & law enforcement can disrupt these networks faster.
Grateful to @USAttyPirro for her leadership and @FBIDirectorKash and his team for bringing these criminals to justice.
