A message from Melaleuca Executive Chairman Frank VanderSloot: We have just received word that USA Today has named Melaleuca one of America’s “Most Trusted Brands!” We have been informed that USA Today hired a national research firm, Plant-A Research Group, to perform one of the largest marketing surveys of this type ever done, to determine what brands in America are trusted the most. The results came out this week! The survey named only 1/10 of 1% of all American companies as the nation’s most trusted companies. In these crazy times, when people don’t know who to trust, it’s gratifying to learn that a national publication has determined that our company is one that consumers say they trust the most. In today’s world trust is extremely difficult to earn. Trust is not something you can demand. It takes years of good behavior! I believe that this award is a tribute not only to the company itself but to the thousands of marketing executives who represent us. As we have said from the beginning, “The truth is good enough!” Exaggerations, hype, and broken promises destroy trust. 40 years of keeping promises, quality products, and ethical behavior by our management team, our employees, and our marketing executives have earned this recognition, which is really an endorsement by the American consumer. Melaleuca is being discovered! Of all the awards we have earned over the years, I believe this is the most valuable! We did not seek this award! We did not apply for this award! We did not even know that this research was going on. But we are extremely proud to be named among the 500 most trusted brands in America out of several million American companies. This award comes on the heels of being recognized earlier this year by USA Today as one of “America’s Best Stores.” It’s further proof that when you consistently try to do the right thing, it is possible to earn the most precious of attributes: people’s trust! To say I am extremely proud, would be an understatement! You all can be proud of this recognition! Because you are an integral reason for the trust people place in us!
