1940: DGN offered a "Life Problems Class" to students. The class was run by the Dean of Boys and the Dean of Girls (pictured). Marriage, vocations, business, social etiquette, job finding, and similar problems were discussed. #100yearsofD99 #D99is100

1968: In the Industrial Arts Department, a completely new concept in course organization was attempted in 1968; the department offered only courses that were a semester's length. It looks like the idea might have been a bit popular ... #100yearsofd99 #d99is100

1936: The auditorium at DGN served as a one-stop shop for all things athletics and activities! During basketball season, it was used for practice and home games. It also served as a stage for school plays, first-period band practice, and gym class! #d99is100 #100yearsofd99

DID YOU KNOW: The DGS mascot is based on a drawing done in 1964 by John VanDeleur, a local artist commissioned to draw the new school’s mascot. The model for the drawing was a ceramic figurine belonging to the daughter of DGS secretary Loretta Walton. #100yearsofD99 #D99is100
