Great to attend a Parliamentary reception on 3 Dec, marking #WhiteRibbonDay and the #16DaysOfAction against gender-based violence. An important moment to make the White Ribbon Promise, reflect on the progress made, and recommit to ending violence against women and girls in all its forms.

As part of #16DaysofAction, I recently visited @VictimSupport in Luton alongside Deputy PCC Umme Ali to hear how funding from my office is helping to support victims of non-domestic abuse related stalking. Our support enables an accredited Independent Stalking Advocacy Caseworker for people experiencing non domestic stalking. This case worker offers one-to-one safety planning, support around police and court processes, and access to online tools. Anyone who is not a domestic abuse victim experiencing stalking can be referred, or self refer to the service, and support is tailored to each persons needs, risks, language and access requirements. Together with Victim Support, I am committed to shining a light on this crime so more victims feel able to come forward. 🔗 orlo.uk/5AKFv

🧡On the last day of #16DaysOfAction against gender based violence, Julia, a domestic abuse survivor highlights her experience and serves as a reminder that seeking help can be your first step on your journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor. If you or someone you know is affected by domestic abuse, or gender-based violence, local and national support is available through the Bedford Domestic Abuse Partnership. 🔗 See link in comments for more details.

Today marks the end of #16DaysOfAction Against Domestic Violence, which runs from 25 November to 10 December. This global campaign aims to raise awareness and take action to end domestic violence and gender-based abuse. At the ABF, we are committed to supporting all members of the Army family facing hardship or in need, including those affected by domestic abuse. This financial year, we have awarded over £200,000 of funding towards projects that tackle domestic abuse and provide vital support to the Army family.
