The 40something yr old teachers I know complain constantly. Yet they are all off the next 2 months. Their salary is for 10 months work. And, kids graduate from HS in Chicago and can't read at 4th grade level.

As a 40something worth a pretty penny with neither spouse nor kids, the former feels fairly worthless withouth the latter.

Maybe that applies to some cultures or tribes, but in my family, respect is based on seniority, money or no money, whether male or female, and everyone treats one another with respect.
