ALT Text: Ger has worked on Human Rights programmes with the Council of Europe, and was an advisor to the Irish Human Rights Commission in Ireland as well as being a recipient of the prestigious Peter Norman Humanitarian Award for her work in Human Rights and Disability by the Australian Embassy and Peter Norman Foundation in 2025.
Her previous roles include Diversity and Inclusion Manager with the GAA, in an area that challenged the sporting bodies across the world to create more opportunities to help people with disabilities, LGBTQ communities, ethnic minorities, and to help communicate the voices of the excluded and diverse. Ger also brings additional experience as club development manager with Special Olympics Ireland and the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA).
Additionally, Ger McTavish is an experienced sports presenter on TG4, and a motivational speaker who has huge grá for her Irish language, arts, and culture.

In February 2025, Ger became the first Disability in Sport Lead at Sport Ireland; the statutory body tasked with the development of sport in Ireland, and bringing the vision of an active Ireland where everyone can enjoy the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity.
