"The story of Jiya and the Wisdom of Elephants has taught me that elephants carry so much wisdom, sometimes more than people." — Joseph, Grade 4 This simple but powerful reflection from Joseph reminds us why stories matter. Through Jiya and the Wisdom of Elephants, young readers are exploring themes of wisdom, kindness, community, and the importance of learning from those who came before us. Inspired by the values we see every day at our Learning & Leadership Center in Kafue, #Zambia, the book encourages children to discover their own potential and the role they can play in helping others. The good news? The books will be arriving later this month, and there is still time to reserve your copy! Every purchase supports the African Education Program's work with children, youth, and families through education, literacy, leadership development, health initiatives, special education, and environmental learning programs. 📚 Order your copy today: africaneducationprogram.org/… Join us in sharing the wisdom, one story at a time. #TheWisdomWeShare #JiyaAndTheWisdomOfElephants #AfricanEducationProgram #LiteracyMatters #WhereYouthRiseCommunitiesThrive

What helps a child succeed in the classroom? It starts with making sure they are healthy, nourished, and ready to learn. At our flagship Learning & Leadership Centre in Kafue, Zambia, the Amos Youth Centre served 20,025 nutritious meals to children and youth during the first quarter of 2026 alone, averaging nearly 350 meals every single day. Each meal provides a balanced combination of protein, vegetables, and starch to help students stay focused, energized, and engaged in their education. For many young people, these meals are not just lunch. They are a source of consistency, stability, and care. We often talk about improving education through classrooms, teachers, and learning materials, but learning is difficult when a child is hungry. Nutrition plays a critical role in attendance, concentration, emotional well-being, and academic success. At The African Education Program (AEP), we believe feeding a child is part of educating a child. By supporting our Nutrition Program, you are helping children build healthier futures and giving them the opportunity to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Join us in ensuring no child has to learn on an empty stomach. 🌹 Love, Timing, and Letting Go of the Plan ❤️ Life doesn’t always unfold the way we imagine it — but sometimes that’s where the most beautiful chapters begin. In our latest blog, AEP’s Co-Founder & Executive Director shares her personal journey of purpose, patience, and unexpected love — and how loosening the grip on “the plan” opened space for new life, new love, and a new beginning. Working hand-in-hand with local schools like Soloboni Community School helps our flagship Learning & Leadership Center in Kafue, #Zambia -- the Amos Youth Centre -- reach children who might otherwise be left behind. Many students there couldn’t read or write—but through our Literacy Club, 20 out of 30 can now read basic sentences! By partnering with #schools, we complement their efforts, bring play-based and social-emotional learning into classrooms, and build lasting community connections. Together, we’re nurturing a generation that can read, write, and dream beyond survival. On #InternationalDayoftheGirl, we celebrate the incredible potential of every girl at our flagship Learning & Leadership Center -- the Amos Youth Centre -- in Kafue, Zambia. Our programs empower young women to dream big, lead confidently, and break barriers. From our College Prep courses to leadership camps, we're nurturing the next generation of changemakers. Because when girls rise, communities thrive. The Amos Youth Centre joined the provincial commemoration of the #InternationalDayOfTheGirl in a celebration that brought together over 300 girls and boys from neighboring schools and organizations across Kafue and Lusaka. From the Amos Youth Centre and our Read for Rose Special Education Program, 10 girls and boys proudly represented them at the event. They were honored to have the Minister for Lusaka Province, Hon. Sheal Mulyata, representation by the Kafue District Commissioner, Mr. Maurice, and joined by Kafue Mayor Hon. Buumba Malambo, a passionate advocate for women and girls. Across the world, and especially here in Zambia — too many girls still face barriers to education, safety, and opportunity. But through mentorship, education, and leadership training, we’re helping girls find their voices, build confidence, and step forward as leaders of change. #InternationalDayOfTheGirl #AfricanEducationProgram #GirlsLead #EmpowerHer #YouthLeadership #GirlsEducation #GenderEquality #ZambiaGirls
