Thank you, @dallasnews for spotlighting the important work underway to help Dallas students gain meaningful career experience through the Dallas Works Internship Program. At last week’s kick-off event at City Hall, I was especially moved by City Manager @KBTDallasCM’s powerful story of getting her own career jump-started by a Dallas mayor’s summer program 35 years ago. Her experience is a testament to just how transformative these opportunities can be. Dallas is the third-fastest growing major metro in the country—but too many young people, particularly in historically underinvested and segregated communities, still face barriers to accessing high-wage jobs and long-term career pathways. I’m grateful to Mayor @Johnson4Dallas for championing this initiative, and to our partners at the @AllStarsProject for helping transform @dallasworkstx into a year-round program focused on equity, access, and real-world experience. A heartfelt thank-you to the many companies stepping up to invest in the next generation of Dallas leaders—Hunt Oil Company, @BankofAmerica, @DRC, JP Morgan @Chase, @BankofTexas, @Parkland Health, @AMLIResidential, @dallascollegetx, @thearnoldcos, and KFM Engineering.
