I could not get an iOS simulator to boot on the new betas so I gave this to Codex and it figured it out "I can't get the beta simulator to run. Can you try this for me? If the iOS 27 Simulator does not run, try mounting /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime/4fd4a743c9e75a02f7e4588a26a0c4872914f9b6.asset/AssetData/Restore/094-14693-072.dmg at /Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_24A5355p. And run the iOS 27 Simulator using the Simulator app from Xcode 26.6, then launch that Simulator from Device Hub (Xcode 27)." Credit to @_silgen_name

And(!) you can export AssetData from your Class, such as a FriendlyName and Description, that can be accessed without loading the whole Asset. That's very useful when your Assets are Blueprints and you don't want to load them when showing their name in a list or similar.

DataAssets are great. You can also turn your everyday Class/BP into "DataAssets" (not inheriting from UDataAsset or similar). On top of that, DataAssets can have Bundles to load context-related data (e.g. UI only). SoftRefs AssetManager AssetData are your friend.
Remember that Data Assets exist! They are such an useful way to manage your game data.
