A toxic algal bloom is smothering 500 km of South Australia’s coast, just one sign of a wider marine heatwave gripping the nation. In a new report, the independent Biodiversity Council (made up of 11 Australian universities) maps out seven urgent steps to combat this crisis. Seven steps, one message: our oceans can’t wait, and neither can we. #BiodiversityCouncil #SAAlgalBloom #GreatSouthernReef #MarineHeatwave #OceanHealth #ClimateCrisis #BlueCarbon #MarineConservation #AusScience #Ecology
