Brussels Airlines has rolled out its second Tintin-themed aircraft, this time sending the famous comic hero into space.
The newly painted Airbus A320, registered OO-SNJ, draws directly from Tintin’s lunar adventures, with a deep blue-and-black night sky, moonscape imagery, and a rocket painted along the belly. Each side tells a different story, one featuring Tintin and the Moon, the other highlighting Snowy and Captain Haddock.
The aircraft is set to enter commercial service on February 13, flying from Brussels to Milan Linate. Inside, the theme continues. Overhead bins unfold like comic panels, tracing a rocket’s journey from Earth into space, while subtle references appear on bulkheads and even the cabin carpet. A handwritten quote from Hergé is woven into the design, reinforcing the link between imagination and exploration.
The jet joins Brussels Airlines’ long-running Belgian Icons program, which uses special liveries to showcase national culture. With Tintin approaching his 100th anniversary, the airline is doubling down on one of Belgium’s most recognizable global symbols.
