Day 1/♾️
Brand Name: Axient™
Category: AI, Data Systems & Infrastructure
I began by gathering inspiration from sources like Pinterest and Cosmos.
I then put together a solid mood board and explored how similar brands approached their logos, after which I settled on a clear creative direction.
Before diving into my thought process, here’s a brief introduction to Axient.
Axient™ is a financial-grade AI infrastructure company that designs and engineers intelligent systems for capital-driven environments.
It builds the structural layer beneath platforms, institutions, and digital economies, enabling systems to think, adapt, and execute with precision.
Axient develops foundational intelligence systems that sit beneath products and platforms, quietly powering decisions, automation, and scale.
The core idea was to create a logotype that instantly communicates structure, depth, reliability, and intelligence.
The goal was to design a logo that commands authority and feels bold enough to be trusted with a company’s financial and data systems.
I encountered a few challenges while sketching the letters “A,” “X,” and “E.” (I’ve always struggled with the letter E, lol 😅).
After watching a few YouTube videos, I eventually found a solution. And here's what I came up with.
Tell me what you think about this sketch and how you feel it can impact Axient's brand story and mission.
Also, I'll be building the full identity out in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
I’ve always admired how custom logotypes are created.
Most of the brands with the greatest impact over decades have had custom logotypes, whether hand-drawn or built from a custom typeface.
I asked myself one question: how does this affect a brand or product’s overall perception?
And I discovered something — loyalty.
Brands and products with custom logotypes are uniquely positioned in the global market. As a result, users and customers often develop a distinct emotional connection whenever they interact with the brand.
Take a look at Coca-Cola, YouTube, and Nike. These brands don’t just have timeless logomarks, they also have distinctive logotypes, wordmarks that work perfectly even without the brand mark.
That’s one of the easiest ways brands cement themselves in the minds and hearts of their users and customers.
A unique logotype has a way of solidifying a brand name in people’s minds even before marketing does.
That is why over the next few weeks to months, I'll be learning how to sketch/create custom logotypes for brands across different industries.
And I'll be doing everything publicly.
I'll be sharing my process, milestones, challenges, and everything in between.
I bet it's going to be an interesting one!
