BMC pays huge amounts to contractors for this work. Why can’t they use machinery, which would make the job faster, safer and more efficient?

My first trek was KGL. First day, 2 hours from Sonamarg, had to drop the backpack. Took 2 more years, 2 treks to build enough strength to carry a backpack through the day.
BMC is still a dream. No offloading to mules in BMC. Backpack is still a nightmare. :-)

Well, BMC has it's issues. Am not saying everything is great. Corruption, delays, politics, all factors impact. But we are taking steps in right direction. The slums finally gone. Mumbai Metro starting in phases. It's all upward from here unless we sabotage it ourselves
