Lewis: last yr the govt recognised the need for a statutory regulator overseeing bailiffs. Why havent you done it? Thomas-Symonds: I agree with the objective & we need to speed up delivery Lewis: so why did the govt whips block an MP introducing a private members bill to do it?

Bailiffs can take your stuff for debt. So why aren’t they properly regulated? The majority of the 5m Eng/Wales people they visit have mental health problems. Yet there is no statutory regulation of such an invasive industry. The govt consulted, saying it wanted it, but then went quiet. Martin Lewis on @GMB asked Nick Thomas-Symonds

What powers do bailiffs really have? @MartinSLewis explains your rights as hundreds of thousands of people are visited by unregulated bailiffs each year.

Guns aren't allowed in courthouses either. You might look at the Bailiffs and think "well they have guns" and you should just pretend they don't because they will notice you looking. Just like women...

By "attempted to" I mean were physically restrained either before they could begin to or finish killing the abuser. Usually with something like a gun or an axe. Sometimes its in the court room itself. The bailiffs have to physically restrain the father from killing him.
