🎉 West Cork Feel Good Festival 2025🎉 We were thrilled to see Skibbereen, Bantry, and Dunmanway Libraries come alive with music, stories, and wellness during this year’s West Cork Feel Good Festival! 🤱Roisin Brennan visited to share powerful stories on Matrescence - the journey into motherhood. 🎶 Singing for the Brain was a hit in all three branches. 🌬️ Breathwork expert Natasha Edmondson guided Bantry Patrons on Using Your Breath to Support Your Winter Wellness. ✨ At Skibbereen Library, we ended on a high note with📖 Storytelling as Gaeilge from the legendary Pat 'The Hat' Speight A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to our wonderful presenters. ✨Two of our our International Women’s Day Flash Fiction Creative Writing competition 2025 Highly Commended Short Story winners received their prizes recently. Elizabeth Gibson being a patron of #BantryLibrary and West Cork Literary Festival being held in Bantry can’t be just a coincidence, there must be something in the water! Marzia Bosoni’s prize travelled 441kms from Cork to Carrigans, Donegal. Marzia is our first ever Highly Commended winner of our International Women’s Day Flash Fiction Creative Writing competition from outside of County Cork. West Cork Literary Festival 2025 continues at #Bantrylibrary. In Bantry Library today you can see: At 1pm, Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Heather Clark. Her first novel, 'The Scrapbook' is the story of a consuming love haunted by European history and inherited guilt. At 5pm, internationally renowned Swedish photographer Lina Scheynius and translator Saskia Vogel. Lina Scheynius is a photographer known for her distinct, diaristic style of image-making. Saskia Vogel is a writer and translator from Swedish and German into English. West Cork Literary Festival begins today. 📚 🎉 #Bantrylibrary will play host to a wide range of FREE events throughout the festival. Taking place in Bantry Library today we have: At 13:00. Come Sit Awhile: Dementia-Friendly Stories and Memories. The launch of the second edition of 'Come Sit Awhile', a collection of dementia friendly stories and memories. A number of readings will take place as part of the event, including the winning entries from the Age Friendly short story competition. At 17:00: Opening Reception of West Cork Literary Festival.
