@BitsaveProtocol won 2 grants from @base and 1 sponsorship to DevCon for international exposure. - BaseBatch 001 - $13,000 - Onchain Summer - $7,000 - BaseBatch 002 we were top 50 finalist out of 750 projects and were to be flown to Argentina to pitch at DevCon. I couldn't go because of Visa issues, but as a result of some of the grants we had gotten, I was able to pay for flight tickets for our then Marketing lead @kingmessang_ to be there to present BizMarket in front of VCs. And he did. The flight ticket was in my name and non transferable so it was a big pain when my visa didn't come through, the ticket was basically wasted. Base invested in a lot of African Projects and it led by extension to some of these projects attracting VCs and raising funding. So saying they didn't invest up to $5 doesn't fly on any level at all including a sarcastic one 😒 Base really invested in this region, that's why I was saying I don't get why they just upped and left like that, before they could even enjoy the fruits of their investment, that's why I don't get it! For example, @BitsaveProtocol is a Savings Protocol that has now deployed a RWA yield aggregator (that bridges both the web2 and web3 finance world). You'll see updates in the coming weeks. Anyone worth their salt in web3 who understands the trend in 2026 with RWAs and Stablecoins, understands that this brings serious liquidity and yield settlement for RWAs in Africa on Base, cause we were already launching it there. A lot of the success we have gotten up to this point is as a result of the support we've gotten from Base. And I know of a few other projects that were already expanding into what was going to be mad profitable on an ecosystem scale. We get to know through Twitter that you're leaving the global south, ok........ When you're investing in something, there's a time frame you give for growth......(my goodness I didn't even know how invested I was in @base until now🤦🏽‍♀️) I'm done with this conversation, focusing on launching @BitsaveProtocol's BizMarket. I still remember when we were in the same incubase batch for BaseBatch India. I saw the demo video and thought — damn, crazy stuff! We didn’t make it to incubase funding, but my friends @meesaj__ and @NikhilEth did. Super happy to see 2 teams make it and get grants 🙌 That moment pushed me to start again from scratch. Got to know Farcaster, built a few mini-apps, and eventually joined the Base Fellowship. Lucky to have OG mentor @Saxenasaheb who helped us refine the idea and build @tryrecessdotfun 💜 We don’t know if it’ll be huge or not, but we’re grinding hard to make it successful in every possible way.
