🏏 Saturday results for the Bois. A strong day for the 1st XI away at Great Baddow, coming away with a 208-run win after a complete all-round performance. After winning the toss and batting first, the innings was built around another solid opening partnership from Kashyap and Adams, who once again gave the side a platform. Kashyap went on to make an excellent 73, with the ever-reliable Adrian Nel contributing a composed 65 through the middle overs. Late runs from Maru and Dolan helped push the total to 290. With the ball, the display was particularly pleasing. Petchey set the tone up front, bowling with pace, accuracy and control to finish with 3 wickets, while Victor again gave very little away from the other end. Dolan was excellent when introduced, bowling with pace and energy, and Cossey brought guile and control to the attack, picking up 3 important wickets in a good spell. Great Baddow were eventually bowled out for 82, with pressure maintained throughout the innings. At The Buxton Trust Ground, the 2nd XI were involved in a competitive game against Basildon & Pitsea. After Basildon posted 236/9, the standout performance came from Jalal, who produced a superb spell of bowling to take 7 wickets, finishing with outstanding figures of 9 overs, 5 maidens, 11 runs and 7 wickets. In reply, the 2s battled hard but were eventually bowled out for 209, falling 27 runs short. Hyde and Trevett both helped build the chase, but no one was quite able to go on and make the match-winning score the innings needed. Plenty of positives across both sides and lots still to keep building on as the season moves forward.
