On May 2, 2015, Police Officer Brian Moore and his partner were on patrol, in plainclothes, in the Hollis section of Queens. At approximately 6:15pm, they observed a suspicious male, who they attempted to stop for questioning. When ordered to stop, the suspect instead opened fire, striking Moore. Police Officer Moore was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where two days later his injuries proved fatal. At his funeral, before thousands of his brothers and sisters in blue, Brian was posthumously promoted to Detective First Grade. We will never forget Brian Moore, his selfless service to the people of New York City, and the ultimate sacrifice he made to protect others. #BeMoore
