Since it looks like workouts are going to be indoors for awhile, I got to McGuyvering my treadmill situation. Found an old bedstep (from a prior furniture collection no longer in use) and two blown speaker cabinets that when held together by a bungee cord, give you something similar to a shelf next to the treadmill. I then experimented and found three folded towels came about to the height of where my hand would be resting. I'd been having trouble with my balance on a treadmill, but this allowed me a way to steady myself without having to lean in any direction. Because I could then walk upright without leaning, I felt more comfortable and could keep ramping up the speed until I was at the same pace as outside.
There's an Alexa to control music and volume, a TV, and out of the picture more towels, cold water, sweatshirts and a fan if I want to breeze. All told, it's probably safer to do this indoors until fall. I just have to get used to it...
