As the 2025 state legislative year has come to a close, Disability Rights California's (DRC) team of policy experts has compiled an end-of-session wrap-up summarizing the high and low points for bills impacting people with disabilities.
This wrap-up is the product of expert review and analysis from our public policy team, which consists of a rare group of advocates at the state capitol working exclusively to advance the rights of people with disabilities.
The recap breaks down the status of the six bills DRC sponsored, the 25 high-priority support bills DRC championed, and the 19 high-priority bills DRC opposed. The policy team also shares insights into the impacts of the state budget on people with disabilities.

Looking ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to advance intersectional advocacy with and on behalf of Californians with disabilities, including expanding and protecting access to health care, ending solitary confinement, increasing wages, and ending LGBTQIA discrimination.
