Thought research reproduction meant: Read paper → run code → verify results. Reality 🥲 Working through BioReason (DNA Qwen GRPO): broken imports, version mismatches, flash-attention/NVCC issues, Slurm debugging, config tuning… Fix one thing → another breaks.

So excited to be part of the first ever Arc AIxBio Fellows cohort! the legends @genophoria , @pdhsu, and the whole @arcinstitute team, thank you for making this happen me, Parsa (@Radii2323), Arihant, and Ivy are gonna cook BioReason-Cell, the first multimodal cell reasoning model 🧬
Introducing the inaugural cohort of the Arc AIxBio Fellows. These five student teams will each tackle an ambitious ML project over the next 6-12 months with a dedicated mentor.

bioreason makes me happy everyday not only because we wanna cure disease but mainly working w my middle school buddy (@adibvafa) and being mentored by fantastic @genophoria (who we used to see his photo in our high school's hall of fame) and legendary @pdhsu

Excited to be part of ChatGPT Futures Class of 2026 with my bro Parsa (@Radii2323)! OpenAI showed the world that LLMs can reason. We showed that they can reason in biology. BioReason-Pro, our protein reasoning model, has been used by 3,000 reasearchers across 19 countries. And all of it is because OpenAI shared the fruit of their research with the world. I'm now more confident than ever that Bio AI will be the greatest endavour of humanity.

Next in line at #AACR26 is Bo Wang (U of Toronto/Xaira) about the power of foundational models (trained with perturb seq data) to predict cell disease pathways (X Cell Ultra). 2nd part: Can we teach LLM models to understand protein function (BioReason Pro, open-source)?

The velocity at Qwen team is just incredible! Our team were just playing around their recent small model series, now Qwen 3.6 Plus dropped and it's free on OpenRouter. Specifically designed for agentic workflow with 1M context window. 65K output tokens. 3x faster than Claude Opus 4.6 in early tests. Qwen 3.5 was capable but flaky—long reasoning chains, inconsistent outputs, needed babysitting. 3.6 Plus hits 10.0 consistency (up from 9.0) with zero flaky tests. Can’t wait to test Qwen 3.6 in both our on-device medical LLM project and BioReason-Pro! qwen.ai/blog?id=qwen3.6

BioReason-Pro was released less than 2 weeks ago, and the response has been incredible. Already, 1,300 users worldwide have signed up for the portal, and 3,000 proteins have been tested. We’re deeply grateful for all the thoughtful and constructive feedback. Today, we’re open-sourcing 223,000 protein reasoning traces from BioReason-Pro on @huggingface and hopefully our work can further facilitate more research into biological reasoning! Dataset: huggingface.co/datasets/wang… Try it here: app.bioreason.net
2026 may be the year AI starts to truly reason about biology. AlphaFold helped close the sequence → structure gap. The next frontier is sequence → functions. Today, together with @genophoria and the team at @arcinstitute , we’re releasing BioReason-Pro — the first multimodal reasoning model for protein function prediction.
