Yesterday marked Day 04 of the @fedibtc 2-Week Program, and it was truly epic and amazing as we moved deeper into understanding the @fedibtc App and its powerful role in building decentralized, community-driven finance. The session was led by @getraud , and before diving into the main topic of the day, we took time to recap what we have learned so far throughout the program. This recap helped strengthen our foundation and connect the dots between all the key concepts introduced earlier. We revisited the introduction to the Fedi App, clearly understanding its mission and why it is different from traditional financial and social platforms. We explored how Fedi works, focusing on its user-friendly design that enables communities to realize self-custody without technical complexity. We also discussed Fedi Chats, which allow secure communication within federations, and how these chats enhance coordination, trust, and collaboration among members. In addition, we went through the importance of Fedi Communities, highlighting how they empower groups to organize, save, transact, and grow together. We also explored Fedi Mini Apps, learning how they extend functionality within the Fedi ecosystem by enabling payments, services, and tools that meet real community needs. The session then led us to the core topic of the day: Federation on the Fedi App. We discussed how federations work, the concept of multispend, and why federation is a powerful model for balancing security, resilience, and shared responsibility. The advantages of federation were clearly explained, especially how it reduces single points of failure while maintaining community ownership and transparency. The session was highly engaging, with active participation from people across the globe, including DRC Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Mauritius, El Salvador, the USA, Nigeria, and many other African countries. This diversity made the discussion richer and more impactful. Special thanks to @getraud for delivering such clear and insightful education on the Fedi App. We also appreciate Brian from Chapsmart.com for his consistent support and valuable contributions during the session. Lastly, heartfelt thanks to our founder @Graysatoshi, Brian from @chapsmart_tz , and @getraud from the Bitcrazy YouTube channel for making this program live, impactful, and truly epic. 🤙🧡
Yesterday’s Day 03 of the @fedibtc 2-Week Program was truly epic and amazing, filled with strong engagement, active participation, and deep learning. The session created an exciting environment where participants were able to connect, ask questions, and gain practical knowledge about one of the most important components of the Fedi ecosystem — Fedi Mini Apps. The session was led by @getraud with valuable support from Brian of @chapsmart_tz and @Graysatoshi from @BitcoinSafariTZ. Together, they delivered a well-organized and interactive session that balanced theory with hands-on demonstrations. Their combined experience and insights helped participants clearly understand both the technical and practical sides of Fedi Mini Apps. During the session, we explored key topics such as what Fedi Mini Apps are, why they are important, and how they are useful in everyday life. Participants learned how Mini Apps extend the functionality of the Fedi app, transforming it from a simple messaging and wallet platform into a powerful ecosystem that supports payments, education, commerce, communication, and community-driven innovation. This highlighted Fedi’s vision of empowering communities through simple, secure, and accessible tools. One of the most impactful parts of the session was the practical walkthrough on how users can add Mini Apps directly inside their Fedi app. Step by step, participants were shown how easy it is to discover, install, and start using Mini Apps without leaving the Fedi environment. This hands-on approach helped remove barriers for beginners and gave participants confidence to explore the ecosystem on their own. The session also included live exploration and demonstrations of several popular and useful Mini Apps. These included Bitcoin Flash, 2Fiat, Bitcoin Mints, Primal, Hivetalk, and CitrusRate, each showcasing different use cases such as fast payments, fiat conversion, mint management, social interaction, communication, and price tracking. In addition, we explored real-world service and education-focused Mini Apps such as Chapsmart.com, Cashwyre.com, PlanB.network, Airbtc.online, BTCMap.org, and MyFirstBitcoin.io. These examples demonstrated how Mini Apps can support remittances, learning, travel, merchant discovery, and onboarding new users into the Bitcoin economy. Overall, the session was very educational, engaging, and inspiring. Day 03 clearly showed how important Fedi Mini Apps are in driving real-world adoption and empowering communities through practical Bitcoin solutions. The knowledge shared during this session has strengthened participants’ understanding of the Fedi ecosystem and set a strong foundation for future learning in the remaining days of the program. The energy, collaboration, and insights from this session truly made it a memorable experience 🚀🔥.

The session took a deep dive into the powerful features of the Fedi ecosystem, giving participants hands-on insights and practical understanding. We explored key topics including @fedibtc Chats, public and private groups, instant sats in DMs, encrypted messaging, and Bitcoin-powered payments, among many other exciting features that make Fedi a unique and powerful tool for communities and Bitcoin users. @fedibtc 2 Weeks Program - Day 01 Recap: Understanding the @fedibtc Community Organized by @BitcoinSafariTZ, in partnership with @getraud , @chapsmart_tz & @BTCunicalclub Yesterday marked the official kickoff of the @fedibtc 2 Weeks Program — an educational initiative dedicated to helping people understand how the Fedi app works, its features, and how it empowers communities through Bitcoin and open-source technology. The Day 01 sessionfocused specifically on "Fedi Community", which is one of the four key components of the Fedi app: 1. Fedi Community 2. Fedi Chats 3. Fedi Mini-apps 4. Federation The session was hosted virtually and had strong participation from attendees across Tanzania and beyond. It was led by @getraud (Bitcoin Educator & Bitcrazy YouTube founder), supported by Brian from @chapsmart_tz , and @Graysatoshi from @BitcoinSafariTZ. What is a Fedi Community? We began by explaining that the Fedi app is built on the Fedimint protocol , which allows communities to create their own digital federations — groups of trusted guardians who help members manage and access Bitcoin and data privately and securely. A Fedi Community is essentially a private, decentralized collective where people can connect, chat, and share resources. The community is not hosted on any centralized server, making it censorship-resistant and privacy-focused. In this model, members trust a small group of guardians (e.g. family, local leaders, educators) who run the federation and help manage access to Bitcoin wallets and other services. Key Discussions: 1. The Role of Guardians: We emphasized the importance of choosing guardians who are trustworthy, available, and aligned with the community’s values. These guardians do not have access to your money but help you recover access if you lose your phone or credentials. 2. Privacy and Custody: Fedi allows users to self-custody Bitcoin in a community-custodied way. This reduces risk for beginners who may not be ready for full self-custody yet, and it's safer than keeping funds on centralized exchanges. 3. Community Empowerment: We explored how local groups — whether villages, churches, NGOs, or small cooperatives — can create their own Fedi Communities to promote Bitcoin adoption, financial education, and digital independence without needing technical expertise. Session Highlights: - Live demo of how to install the Fedi app - Discussion of the real-life importance of building resilient communities in Africa - Q&A session with learners sharing their thoughts and excitement about using Fedi in their own circles - Clear roadmap on what will be covered in the next sessions Final Thoughts: Day 01 was a powerful introduction to what the Fedi community is all about — not just a chat group, but a digital village built on trust, privacy, and freedom. We thank everyone who joined and contributed. Let’s keep building! #FediTanzania #BitcoinSafariTz #FediCommunity #BitcoinAfrica #DecentralizeEverything
