In academic contexts, Turkey is typically seen as a BorderState of the Middle East because of its geographic complexity, rather than a core part of the region. As a result, it is often mentioned separately instead of being grouped strictly under the Middle East name!
So Turkey is considered separately, and Palestine(being under British Mandate)was effectively a destination to which Britain relocated refugees!
