Words like “underutilized” and “taking buildings offline” are evidence of the complete lack of vision for, understanding of, school communities. BuildBPS is about pleasing developers, not doing right by schools.
The narrative that schools can only stay open if a certain number of seats are full is grounded in the notion that the only thing schools do is provide classroom instruction. We know this far from the case, but it is a convenient narrative for closing and selling off bldgs.
