Our survey was a snapshot - 289 people - but together they went to over 5000 indoor and 1200 outdoor live events in 2019. Disabled people supported industries before during the pandemic - they must be welcomed back engaged with at this time. #BuildingBackForAll

Great to join @ruffyarts this morning for a discussion about forging an inclusive recovery with @whatnextcymru members. Key point: #BuildingBackForAll depends on actively listening to Deaf and disabled audiences, artists, volunteers and professionals at this time.

We've hit 150 responses already! One key takeaway so far - its essential that venues and events engage with disabled audience members who don't feel safe to return just yet. How? Arrange an online session to share info and speak with people directly. #BuildingBackForAll

According to @RNIB, there are at least 350,000 blind and partially sighted people living in the UK. All reopening activity, from online info to facilities inside a venue must be geared up to welcome them back to live events too. #BuildingBackForAll

Positive news for anyone needing to use public transport on their way to work in, perform at, or be a part of the audience at venues across London, disabled people included. The whole journey matters when it comes to #BuildingBackForAll. theguardian.com/uk-news/2021…
