Sunday speed work focused on form, takeoff mechanics, and acceleration efficiency. The goal of the session was to clean up the details that matter most in the first 10 yards—ankle stiffness, hip mobility, drive-phase mechanics, and arm swing—so acceleration becomes more efficient and repeatable. Rather than forcing speed, the emphasis was on quality reps, proper ground contact, and using the body as one connected system. After the technical work, Elijah posted a 1.64 10-yard split, a clear improvement and a solid checkpoint in this phase. Right now the priority is mastering the first 10 yards, building consistency, and stacking clean reps before shifting focus to longer sprint distances and top-end speed. From the time I was a little kid, I watched Mary Martinez play softball and she became one of the first athletes I truly looked up to. I followed her whole journey — the highs, the lows, the long nights, the comeback moments, all of it. Seeing @maryymart2 grind through the ups and downs and still chase her dreams taught me what real toughness looks like. Grateful for athletes like Mary who show the next generation what’s possible. Thank you for inspiring so many of us. 💙🥎 #RoleModel #SoftballFamily #BuiltNotRushed
