Bushwacker seemed like it reached too far, trying to upgrade 'Mechs but unable to fit together. Then terrifying invaders unwittingly gave the keys to finish this mobile striker.
In the face of failure you might find the solution. Don't give up.

ALT BSW-X1 Bushwacker. This 55-tonner has a top ground speed of 86 kph, and an eclectic mix of weapons. An AC/10 and ER Large Laser give it striking power, backed up by two LRM-5s and 2 Machine Guns. 9 tons of armor keep it reasonably safe, and 11 Double Heat Sinks keep it well-cooled, unlike this same 'Mech in MechWarrior 3.
Bushwacker was an attempt to make more compact, lower profile 'Mechs that were harder to hit, but shrinking the frame made it impossible to fit all the pieces together. But lessons learned from reverse-engineering Vulture OmniMechs during the Clan Invasion finally let the designers sort out the space issues and let the Bushwacker work.
Bushwacker is almost a secondary mascot of BattleTech, being the starting 'Mech in MechWarrior 3, and making an appearance in the BattleTech cartoon.
Every year Vernon County host it's annual Bushwacker festival. This year was my first year attending and I was happy to promote @SamAlexanderMO while I was there. None of the SD28 had a booth, but I made sure Sam was represented there today. He will make a fantastic Senator!
Another NWO Bushwacker.
Like Cornyn, Thune, Rand Paul and loser Massie with his sidekick MTG. Guess we can throw in Boebert, too. She's quiet since Subverter Massie's embarrassing defeat.
Trump, top roped him.🤣
